Responsible for administrative support work of Human Resources Department.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 • Coordinate recruiting activities, such as posting job opening, communicating with department managers regarding candidates, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.

 • Responsible for onboarding and new hire process such as completing new hire paperwork and assisting with orientation process.

 • Respond to internal and external inquiries, draft correspondence, sort mail, etc.

 • Assist with worker’s compensation issues, internal audits to ensure compliance, etc.

 • Maintain internal HR reports and documents, such as requisitions, invoices, etc.

 • Organizing training and company events.

 • Assist the processing of payroll and reconciling time cards.

 • Work on various HR department projects as assigned.

 • Assist in other administrative tasks and projects as needed.

 • Assist facility and safety manager in minor projects as needed.

 • Other duties as assigned.

  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a timely fashion.

• Ability to work with all levels of employees.

• Ability to relate to a diverse workforce and to implement processes and activities designed for simplicity and consistency.

• Knowledge of MS Excel

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Associate Degree and/or 1 to 3 years human resource experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

• The ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as salary, benefit, tax, proportions and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. 

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• HKU conforms with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

• The work environment is consistent with normal office conditions.
