Hitachi Introduces its First Quiet Compressor, the EC28M

(Feb 7, 2018) – Hitachi Power Tools (Hitachi Koki USA, Ltd.) today announced its first compressor in a new Low Noise Series; a Portable 1-Gallon Oil-Free Quiet Air Compressor, model EC28M. It produces a mere 59 dB of sound, which is so low a normal conversation can easily take place while it is cycling! Equipped with an industrial oil-free pump and overload protection, it delivers high durability with virtually no maintenance. Weighing just 25.2 lbs., the EC28M is easy to transport and is ready to plug and play right out of the box.
Hitachi’s EC28M combines professional quality with simplified operation. Compared to universal motor products, this portable compressor features 2.8 Amp direct drive induction motor for efficient and reliable performance. The motor also incorporates an overload protection circuit that stops the unit in a possible overheating situation. The compact 1-gallon “hotdog” style compressor is ideal for remodeling applications where a compressor is needed for punch-out work and produces so little noise, that it doesn’t disrupt a household like a conventional compressor can. It produces 0.8 cfm at 90 psi and 1.3 cfm at 40 psi. The locking regulator and 90 on/125 off pressure switch means no worries about pressure wander or a pressure starved tool on the job.
The steel roll cage design protects the integrated control panel that centralizes the industrial regulator and gauges for simple operation and PSI adjustment. A stainless steel braided discharge hose resists corrosion and remains flexible. Additional features that add convenience to the EC28M Quiet Compressor include the easy to use ball valve drain cock for quick and easy tank draining, shock absorbing feet that reduce vibration and minimize crawling, and a factory installed universal quick coupler ready for plug and play functionality.
