Tanaka Power Equipment hereby warrants products manufactured by it or sold by it to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of seven years after delivery to the first consumer end user. “Consumer applications” are defined as all applications for household use.
Products used in commercial applications are warranted for two years after delivery of the product to the first commercial end user. “Commercial applications” is defined as all applications other than rental which are not considered household use.
Products used in rental applications are warranted for one year.

Two Year Warranty
The product categories listed below are warranted to the original purchase to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the original purchase date.
One Year Warranty
The product categories listed below are warranted to the original purchase to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date.
All solid steel drive shafts utilized in Tanaka products, including split boom attachments for SmartFit® models, retailed after January 1, 2005 are warranted for life. Tanaka Power Equipment will replace, at no charge, any failed solid steel drive shaft free of charge for those models. If Tanaka Power Equipment determines that the failure of a solid steel drive shaft effectively damaged other components, those components will be covered under the terms of the warranty and will be replaced free of charge. No labor expenses will be covered for drive shaft replacement, or subsequent replacement of related parts, after the expiration of the products original warranty coverage period.
Tanaka Power Equipment warrants its ignition systems for a period of five years.
All accessories, attachments, and spare parts will carry a 90 day part replacement warranty. Provided however, normal wear parts including hoses, spark plugs, starter rope, air and fuel filters, clutch shoes, vibration isolators, throttle cables, lubricants, and all cutting attachments, etc. are not subject to this replacement warranty. Normal maintenance and adjustments to the magneto, points, carburetor, and spark plugs are not considered the responsibility of Tanaka under this warranty.
This warranty is limited to repair or replacement by Tanaka Power Equipment or at the premises of Tanaka Power Equipment Authorized Service Dealers, of such parts as appear to Tanaka Power Equipment, upon inspection, to be defective in material and/or workmanship.
This warranty is extended to the first end user, and no warranty is made nor authorized to be made assignable on resale by the first end user.
Tanaka Power Equipment makes no warranty with respect to accessories not sold or distributed by Tanaka Power Equipment. Such accessories are subject to the warranty policy of their respective manufacturers or distributors.

To obtain performance of any obligation under this warranty for failure during the applicable warranty period, deliver the Tanaka product, shipping prepaid, to Tanaka Power Equipment, or to the nearest Tanaka Power Equipment Authorized Service Dealer.
Tanaka Power Equipment reserves the right to inspect the claimed defective part(s) to determine if the malfunction is the result of a defect covered by this warranty.
This warranty will cover only defects arising under normal usage, and shall not apply, nor will Tanaka Power Equipment assume any responsibility, if the failure was caused by the following:
- Operation of product with incorrect fuel to oil ratio
- Misuse or abuse
- Negligence
- Accident or physical damage
- Repairs made by unauthorized parties and/or with unauthorized parts
- Improper set up or altered products
- Improper adjustments i.e. carburetor, etc
- Operation of engine speeds above Tanaka Power Equipment recommendations
- Failures due to contaminated fuel
- Failure to operate the unit in the manner specified by the “owner’s manual”
- Cutting attachments i.e. nylon line, blades, etc
ANY ACTION FOR BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY HEREUNDER MUST BE BROUGHT WITHIN A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS FROM THE END OF THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD.
No agent, representative, dealer, or employee of Tanaka Power Equipment has the authority to increase or alter the obligations of this warranty.
